Renowned Iranian actress Golab Adineh has grabbed a certificate at the Brooklyn Film Festival in the US.
Adineh received the certificate for Outstanding Achievement for a female actor in the movie 'Abji' (The Sis) at the US event.
She has also won the award for best female actress in a leading role for the movie at the Beijing International Film Festival in China in April 2017.
Directed by Marjan Ashrafizadeh, it has been the 9th international experience of the film.
‘Abji’ narrates the story of two women who have lived together for more than 50 years, but the situation doesn’t remain the same and the separation time arrives.
Born Golab Mosta'an in 1954 in Tehran, Adineh holds a degree in Political Economics from Iran's Shahid Beheshti University.
She began theater acting in 1975 as a student in a troupe formed by Mehdi Hashemi and Dariush Farhang, and also appeared in many plays.
However, it was her performance in the drama 'Sultan and the Sheppard' which shot her to fame. She has also tried her hand at directing.
Adineh has been a candidate for the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role for 'Mom's Guest' and 'While Everyone Was Asleep'.
The Iranian actress’s appearance in 'The Girl with the Blue Scarf' took a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role from the Fajr International Film Festival.
